Before that she worked for McClatchy at the Lexington Herald-Leader covering health and government. She also previously ran three community newspapers in her home state of Kentucky.
She has a master’s degree in journalism and public affairs from American University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky.
