President Donald Trump announced Sunday night that a deal with Iran “is now complete” to reopen the Strait of Hormuz — though he did not reveal any other details and Iran still has yet to confirm the completion of any agreement.
“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
He later clarified that the strait would reopen Friday when a deal is set to be signed at a ceremony in Switzerland.
