Former Vice President Kamala Harris will appear at events to boost Sen. Jon Ossoff’s reelection bid in the coming weeks, a campaign spokesperson for the Georgia Democrat confirmed to The Washington Sun Thursday.
The campaign trail appearance is reportedly one of several that Harris has planned ahead of November’s midterms. Her appearance also comes as some Democratic candidates and strategists have signaled they are distancing themselves from the 2024 presidential nominee, who has maintained a relatively low profile since her departure from the White House.
Harris is expected to deliver a keynote address at a Fulton County Democrats dinner and stump with Ossoff in October, CNN first reported Thursday. She has also previously appeared in social media videos for Ossoff’s campaign.
“Senator Ossoff is grateful for Vice President Harris’ help and support in his re-election campaign,” Ossoff campaign spokesperson Ellie Dougherty said in a statement Thursday.

Harris is also scheduled to be a featured guest at a fundraising event in San Diego for Marni von Wilpert, who is running for California’s 48th Congressional District, according to Politico. She will also appear in Northern California to stump for Richard Pan, whose opponent is independent Rep. Kevin Kiley in the state’s newly redrawn 6th Congressional District.
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, who is running for governor, told Politico that Harris is planning to attend a canvass launch for his campaign in October.
Harris’ office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on her upcoming appearances.
“It is critical for Democrats to win this November so we can fight the Trump administration’s corruption and work to lower costs for the American people,” her spokesperson Eduardo Negrón told CNN. “Vice President Harris will continue to do whatever is needed to support candidates in races where she can be helpful.”
Negrón previously said that Harris intends to fundraise and make appearances for races “where she can help make a difference.”
Iowa Senate candidate Josh Turek, Iowa gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand and Alaska Senate candidate Mary Peltola are among the Democrats who have held Harris at arm’s length after her underperformance in 2024 led to a reckoning within the Democratic Party.
“No thanks,” Sand told reporters late August when questioned about his stance. “Let’s move on. We need some new leadership.”
