FBI agents seized electronic devices from former California Rep. Eric Swalwell and raided his D.C. home last weekend in connection with an investigation into sexual assault allegations against him, according to multiple reports.
He was stopped at the San Francisco airport on Saturday, where he had several items seized by federal authorities. Agents raided his D.C. residence just one day later. The searches were first reported by the Daily Mail Thursday and confirmed by other news outlets.
The Justice Department is investigating the allegations that led to Swalwell’s resignation from office and withdrawal from the California governor race in April, NOTUS previously reported. District attorneys in New York and Los Angeles also have ongoing probes.
