DHS Stats Chief Rips Trump’s ‘War on Immigrants’ in Blistering Resignation Letter

The former executive director of the Office of Homeland Security Statistics said he is “thrilled to end [his] relationship with the current administration.”

A top official at the Department of Homeland Security announced his resignation over the weekend in a blistering letter that lashed out at President Donald Trump and excoriated what he described as the administration’s “war on immigrants.”

Marc Rosenblum, the former executive director of the Office of Homeland Security Statistics, wrote in a public LinkedIn post on Saturday that he was “sad, and thrilled, to say that yesterday was my last day working at DHS.”

Rosenblum joined the Office of Immigration Statistics in 2016, and said he watched the team grow from a “scrappy team of 11” to a staff of 45 prior to Trump’s second term. In the more than 10 years Rosenblum served at the agency, he said, his team expanded its data processing and reporting efforts.
